Business Time with Andy GoldbergBusiness Time

Business Time& is the cleverest name for the show that Andy could come up with, but welcomes any suggestions from those who think they can do better. The show includes guests from the local business community, and is designed to open up communications among the small business owners in the area, and provide advice and inspiration to anybody in business.

You can always tell when Andy has run out of things to ask when he plays another song, hopefully something that doesn't get played often on all those other radio stations, but was probably a huge hit in it's time. Occasionally a little-known American tune may find its way into the playlist for reasons which may or may not be obvious....

Andy moved to Barrhead from Baltimore, Maryland in 1998 to get married, having read somewhere that Barrhead is a great place to meet girls. (Baltimore, by the way, is famous for 'The Wire', 'Ace of Cakes', and crabs. It has two nicknames: 'Charm City' and 'Murder Capital of the Mid-Atlantic').

Andy is an award-winning business coach with ActionCOACH, and his burning ambition is to create 1,000 new local jobs by helping small and medium-sized businesses to grow. And if he can save a struggling business along the way, all the better. Andy’s desire is to help people and make loads of money in the process.

The show has two co-hosts: Lesley Malcolm and Colin Thomas. Lesley Malcolm is the owner of her own personnel development company 'Clearwater Brookes' and spends her spare time writing her own profile for the Pulse website. Colin Thomas is the owner of 'Xtensive Web Design' (who designed this brilliant website) and spends his spare time playing golf.

Q&A:

  1. Describe yourself in 5 words.
    American, bald(ing), white, medium height.
  2. What is the best song ever written?
Not sure if it’s the best song ever written, but Mr Postman by The Marvelettes never fails to cheer me
up. And Bruce Springsteen’s Thunder Road is pretty good, too.
  3. Complete the following sentence: “The world would be a better place if...
people spent less time sitting around watching television.”
  4. Describe your perfect day.
It’s raining outside. The kids are away for the weekend. My wife walks in the door with a case of cold Budweiser and says “How about a Quentin Tarantino movie marathon?”
  5. What’s in the perfect sandwich?
Loads of hot corned beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and sauerkraut on heavily buttered grilled slices of rye bread. Aka “The Reuben”. If you skimp on the corned beef then just don’t even waste my time.
